Halloween is approaching on next Tuesday, have you got yourself ready for this frightful holiday?We all know Halloween is one of the major holidays observed in Western countries especially in North America, but do you know in our eastern Asia regions , there are increasing number of population celebrating this western holiday as well? Halloween, according to Wikipedia, is a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints, martyrs, and all the faithful departed. In China, Halloween is translated as: gui jie(鬼节),literally, ghost festival. On the evening of the guijie, many Chinese kids (mostly accompanied by their parents) wear Halloween costumes, carry a pumpkin lantern, and do a treat-or-trick games. It’s a really a hilarious night not only the kids are amused but the adults joined can get much fun as well. Quite opposit to China where Children play major role in the festival, Halloween in Japan is mostly favoured by adults who want to dress in costume. If you're in Japan between Sept to Oct, there are many fun Halloween events going on in Tokyo, Osaka, and some other bigger cities. Celebrations are held in shopping malls and theme parks as well. Events also include street parties, parades, flash mobs, zombie runs and costume parties at bars.
