Mid-Autumn Festival is Approaching

Mid Autumn Festival is one of the greatest three traditional holidays in China, the other two holidays are Chinese New Year and Dragon Boat Festival.

Mid Autumn Festival also called Chinese Moon Festival is traditionally celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month which is in September or October. Mid-Autumn Festival 2015 is on September 27. Chinese people will have a two-day holiday from September 26 to 27.

The Mid-autumn festival is the second most important festival after the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) to Chinese people. Chinese people believe a full moon is a symbol of peace, prosperity, and family reunion. On Mid-Autumn Festival night the moon is supposed to be the brightest and fullest, which is why the festival is also known as the "Day of Reunion" and the "Moon Festival".

Just like other major holidays, people will send gifts to each others, people will buy and send gifts to their friends, family members, colleagues and business associates to express their best wishes  to the gift recipients for the coming holidays. The gifts are various from fruit hampers, gourmet and wine baskets to a box of moon cake and a bouquet of flower and so on.
