Forget to send gift before Chinese New Year?

The first day of Chinese New Year 2016 is Jan 8, some people may forget to send a gift before this date due to various reasons. Never mind, you still have chance to give gift, as CNY holiday last as long as 15 days! The holiday actually ends by the 16th of the lunar calendar, so the gift can be sent anytime before that date, and it can still be regarded as a CNY gift. As a matter of fact, many people do receive their New Year gifts after the holiday starts. CNY is biggest holiday in China, almost everyone get back to home to celebrate the holiday with their family members no matter how long distance they are apart or how busy they are on work; For this holiday, many Chinese people will take a leave earlier in order to spend more time with families, so if you send a gift very close to the official leave, the recipient might have already gone home and not at the address to receive the gift. So it is wise to send gift as early as possible. But if you did missed the time, you can still send it during the holiday from Jan 1-15 in lunar calendar, the meaning can be same.
