For many of us, we may have a chance to being invited to a wedding ceremony in a region, with culture and tradition is something we may not be familiar with. When you go there , you definitely don't want to do something wrong on the occasion, so we come up with this article to share our knowledge with you about the wedding traditions and customs in the area.

Despite the fact there are many similarities between a western ceremony and eastern celebrations, there do exist some big difference between two places. Take Chinese wedding as an example, the wedding site are usually decorate with gold and red color because, Chinese believe these colour will bring good luck to the couple; The ceremony typically includes the ring exchange, bowing down to show respect to the families' elders, and some other rituals and activities. The wedding date itself is selected based on "auspicious days" in feng shui and the Chinese lunar calendar, along with the couples' Chinese zodiac signs.

When come to the wedding dinner, the Chinese version tend to be very large and festive one, it usually contains hundreds people, most of whom are couple’s family members, relatives and friends. The dinner usually be held in big Chinese restaurant or a hotel banquet hall, with each table are sit with 10-15 person depends on the table size. During the process of the dining, the couple will come up to each table and toast guests as a sign to respect coming to their celebration.

When attending wedding, no matter what culture it is, bringing a couple gift is almost a must. In China,  it is customary to give cash(in a red packet) as a gift  and cash is considered a most appropriate gift to the new-wed, however, if you are going to attend a destination wedding, which means you have to pay you hotel bill and meal during your stay, you can breath a sigh of relief, because your gift to them can be thought of your attendance. With that being said, a token of small gifts is necessary and considered being polite, sometimes the gifts like flower or spa set will be much appreciated.
