Deliver As Described

Father’s Day falls on June 17 this year, and you may wonder if people in East Asia celebrate this festival? Of course, we do! Despite the fact we have short history(maybe less than 10 years) of observing Father’s Day, we are like anyone else in the world that celebrate this day by sending our dads flowers and gift to thank him for raising us, being there to support us and care for us in our whole life. Just like mother, dad also plays an important role in the family, Dad taught us how to ride a bike, play ball, and help us on math lessons, even to this day we admire our father and those father’s before him for turning us into the people we have become. We all may want to tell our father that every hug you give, every joke you share, every moment that you listen patiently, every time you take a deep breath and see things from your child's perspective, every time you role model for your child how to show up with integrity, you're shaping your child into a person who will make you proud. We celebrate you!

In China, people honor Father’s Day by giving father a gift including flowers, cakes ,healthcare products or anything in between. Some people opt to bring their dad out for a nice dinner or throw a party to celebrate this special day. For many of us who do not buy gift or having chance to meet our father in person to express our gratitude, the least we can do is to give a phone call to him, send him an email or a text to tell him how much we love him and how grateful we are for his caring and support he offered throughout our life.

For other East Asia countries and regions, where have similar culture and customs, people celebrate Father’s Day also in similar ways as that in China.
